| Lets start of the interview with your introduction within 140 character. :) I am a good egg, multiplying the good eggs to rid the world of mosquitos (and bad manners) :) |
| 1 | BC: Interview begins!
How did you discovered Twitter? On the 8th of December 2006 I came upon Twitter while surfing the www. It looked like an interesting application. Folks can follow your tweets, which can be integrated into your blog so you could micro-update, and at the time you can tweet via text message as well. |
| 2 | What is the best thing about Twitter can do for individual and also the community? I don't think Twitter is the cure. But I do think an individual can use Twitter for good and reap the karma if you will. In the context of citizen participation, sharing constructive views on a particular subject is fruitful. It definitely helps our mindset & businesses to improve. I am heartened by the Brunei that is online, most of which reflect a good natured and sensible society. |
| 3 | Recommend us 2 Twitterers for us to follow and why? @sorayadhamid because she has a lovely lifestyle and wise vibe to her tweets, and @royalbruneiair because they are the Gateway To Borneo And Beyond :) |
| 4 | You and other volunteers had made Twestival Brunei 2011 possible, care to share your experience during the event? @bruneitweet @zulfadly and I saw the Twestival as something twitterers could join for a good cause and put your country on the map. And we just ran with it. Along the way we picked up many big-hearted folks who helped with the logo (@jidah), technical issues (@thewheat, @mfirdaus & @talkingaloudbru), background details (@faeyakof & the crew of @ubdfm), PR (our local social media friends), including the sponsors (Swensens & @kitarojapanese) and the public who came to give their money and time. Last week, @zulfadly went along with staff from the Child Development Centre to buy educational and developmental toys for the children attending the CDC. He was pleased to report that it was money well spent. image source: www.brunei.twestival.com |
| 5 | Now for some fun questions;
My beloved suggested the name 'emmagoodegg', which is a play on the words 'I'm a good egg'. He got it from PG Wodehouse, the author of the Jeeves & Wooster stories, who used the term 'good egg' to denote a person who is flawed but means well. |
| 6 | Will micro-blogging like Twitter replace personal blogging in the future? Share your thoughts on this. No I don't think Twitter will replace blogging. Whilst 140 characters (give or take a few) is convenient to post short burst of thoughts, sometimes there's a need to elaborate the reasoning behind those thoughts. With the advent of applications that allow folks to tweet longer, Twitter has evolved to enhance blogging (and vice-versa). |
| 7 | Are you a tea or a coffee person? and why? I drink copious amount of coffee because that's how I roll. |
| 8 | What is the best quote you have ever read/heard? does it affect the way you live and think? "Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: “Mankind.” Basically, it’s made up of two separate words-”mank” and “ind.” What do these words mean? It’s a mystery, and that’s why so is mankind." - Jack Handey I like quirky quotes and this particular one from Jack Handey is my favourite. It reminds me of individuality and seeing things from a different perspective. |
| 9 | Any new place of interest in Brunei that the tourist should go in their first visit? It's not new, but it's a must. Our lush green virgin forests may not seem much to city folks but it means a lot to our planet. Bring along a guide, enjoy the scenery and breathe in the clean air. Do also visit the Museum of Brunei and its neighbour the Technology Museum of Brunei and imbibe Brunei's history and culture. There are villages nearby the museums that visitors can walk about and see how some of the locals live. |
| 10 | Final question will test your drawing skills, can you draw something that relates to Twitter and you? I can't draw to save my life. This is why I tweet. |
|
| And thats wraps our special interview with emmagoodegg, come and join her on Twitter, but don't forget to add her as BC Buddy too alright. :) |
