“Ringgit ke Syurga & Cannot, Cannot, Cannot!” is a theatrical collaboration between Creative Stage of Ikatan Penulis Sabah and the Green Leaf Theatre House tackling the issue of drugs. For the first time ever, these two groups will be performing together while staying true to each of their artistic swag.

This play centers on the lives of a father and son; Pak Hj Berahim and Saiful. Pak Haji Berahim sells Bakso for a living and was a single parent raising Saiful up. However life began to turn for the worst when Pak Hj Berahim was given the death sentence for having drugs under his possession. This incident has led to various conflicts and heartbreaking experiences which in the end metaphorically lead to the phrase “Ringgit ke Syurga; Money to Heaven”.

A mother & son where merely sitting down at the bus stop waiting to be picked up at night and found an abandoned drug addict site, what could go wrong right? Well…you sure can bet that anything can happen when you put drugs into the picture.

For 17 years UNICEF and Starwood Hotels and Resorts have been working together to raise funds for the world’s most vulnerable children. The UNICEF Check Out for Children Challenge is a fundraising effort by the Starwood Hotels in the Asia Pacific region.

The first of its kind to be undertaken by a Starwood Hotels & Resorts hotel as a UNICEF Check Out For Children Challenge event, the Mt Kinabalu Climb Adventure is being organized by Le Méridien Kota Kinabalu from 7 – 9 September 2014.

It aims to bring together 100 climbers from across the globe for an exhilarating 5 days/4 nights experiential climb up majestic Mount Kinabalu, one of the highest mountains in South East Asia at 4095.2metres.

Proceeds will go towards supporting UNICEF’s education projects and the local charities Rumah Putra Harapan, Lingkudau Ranau and Emmanuel Homes, Kudat.
