Mini International Fly Fishing Festival (IFFF) 2014 – The gathering of fly anglers

The mini International Fly Fishing Fair (IFFF) 2014 Kota Kinabalu Sabah is confirmed on 30th May – 31st May 2014 – followed by fishing on 1st and 2nd June.

There will be FFF CCI certification during the event, those who are interested to sit for the CI certification and MCI certification test are most welcome to join us.

This festival is traditionally a celebration of the rice harvest but now it showcase a variety of Lun Bawang culture and events such as Ruran Ulung (beauty pageant contest) and nguip suling (bamboo musical instrument band).

INFORMATION, FORMAT AND RULES FOR THE COMPETITION:

Routine duration : 90 seconds.

You must be a Malaysian aged 16 to 25.

This is a four stage competition.

Stage One – Submission of entry via video demo to kkbandwidth@gmail.com along with your full name, mykad number and mobile number. Your video can be taken using a phone with camera capabilities. Your video demo must only be 90 seconds long and you must not use any props. Your routine must contain at least two (2) dance genre. Closing date for the submission is on the 18th of April 2014.

Stage Two – Only twelve (12) entries will qualify for this stage. The organiser will contact the qualified entries via phone. The twelve (12) qualified contestants will then attend a video recording session on the 27th April 2014. Venue of this video recording session will be at CORE FITNESS. At this video recording session, you are required to perform a solo dance routine of 90 seconds. Your routine must include a minimum of two (2) dance genres. You will also have to pay a one-off administration fee of RM15 during the video recording session. Props are not allowed to be used during the video recording session. You must provide your own music in the form of a USB Drive or CD, of which must be labelled with your full name.

Stage Three – The videos from the video recording session from each of the twelve (12) qualified contestant will be uploaded on www.bwmag.net on 1st of May 2014. The public will vote for their choice from 1st of May 2014 to 27th of May 2014. The six most voted videos will then qualify for the Grand Final. There will be a wild card spot decided by the Managing Director of Ingenio Industries, Mr. Arthur E. Lee, making the total number of grand finalist to seven.

Stage Four – The seven qualified grand finalist will then compete at the Grand Final in front of a lineup of judges. The Grand Final is on the 7th of June 2014. Venue for the Grand Final will be announced at a later date. Props are allowed for the Grand Final. Grand finalists are to perform 2 (two) dance routine. Each of your routine must include a minimum of two (2) dance genres. Each routine can be between 90 seconds to 180 seconds (maximum). Grand finalists must provide your own music in the form of a USB Drive or CD, of which must be labeled with your full name.

There will be three winners for the competition. The Champion takes home a prize money worth RM1,000. First runner up will receive RM300 and second runner up takes home RM150.

Entries will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and will be limited to the amount of performance time available.

NO SMOKING & DRUGS is permitted in any of our venues at any stage.

Should contestants have any protest on any incident, the contestant is allowed to submit a complaint to the organiser. It must be signed and submitted in writing to competition Project Manager within 30 minutes of the incident involved.

By signing the “CHOKO-LOCKO DANCE!” on the registration form, all registered contestants do hereby grant permission to BandWidth Magazine to publish their photographs on local television, national television, promotional videos, the web or in any other publication, to promote its competitions. Furthermore, we hereby release all directors, officers, or representatives of this competition from any and all claims for damages or injuries sustained while participating in any activity related to this competition.

The Kota Kinabalu Jazz Festival (KKJF) is on its eighth edition this year every since it was started in 2007. For 2014, the festival will be held on the 13th and 14th of June this year from 7pm to 11pm.

The Kota Kinabalu Jazz Festival 2014 (KKJF) is an annual fund-raising jazz extravaganza jointly organized by the Rotary Club of Kota Kinabalu (RCKK) and the Society of Performing Arts Kota Kinabalu, Sabah (SPArKS).

Staged in the picturesque Nature Resort City of Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, the jazz festival brings together a musical melting pot of talents from around the world. KKJF recorded a crowd of over 4,000 people during the two –night performance.
