We are pleased to announce an open call for contributing writers!
We are giving you an opportunity to share your experience, your views, your local insight, for a number of topics on BC.
Contributing writers will produce content for BC readers, subject to our editorial process. You should be knowledgeable and passionate about their topic and have the ability to communicate ideas in simple, practical language. But really, anyone can contribute writing at any time, as often as they like.
Suggested topics are as follows:
- Travel, tourism, food, dining
- Fashion, lifestyle, events, entertainment
- Culture, history, arts, music
- Recreation, sports, hobbies
- Conservation, environmentalism, research
- Education, career, business, entrepreneurship
We welcome regional specialisations for a topic wherever applicable, wherever on Borneo Island you are. No one knows the trends in your city better than you, right?

Why I should apply to be a Contributing Writer?
Selected contributed material will enjoy greater visibility on the website as featured content.
As a contributing writer, you will have an increased profile as a prominent voice in your topic(s), depending on how prolific you are. It is an opportunity to improve and showcase your writing skills, and may help you get a leg up career-wise.
As a good contributing writer you may even get a chance for BC to absorb you as a paid part-time/assignment based writer, to cover events for instance.
