KOTA KINABALU, Jun 3, 2014: The Sabah Environmental Protection Association (SEPA) urged members of the public to have their voices heard by writing in to the the Kota Kinabalu City Hall (KKCH/DBKK) by Friday the 6th of June 2014 deadline.
“This is your opportunity to be heard by the KKCH/DBKK on the Draft Kota Kinabalu Local Plan 2020 and you can do so by going down to City Hall or email, fax and writing,” said SEPA Secretary, Julia Hwong.
A Facebook group known as Save Tanjung Aru Beach has provided clear instructions and sample letters to send to KKCH/DBKK via email, fax or writing in on the matter of the rezoning of Tanjung Aru Beach areas.
“Check the map for changes in the places you are interested in and write in to object if you disagree, this is our right as members of the public,” urged Hwong in a statement today.
SEPA also thanked KKCH/DBKK for providing the extension due to public outcry with the original deadline being 22nd of May, 2014.
“We hope in the future the City Hall will bear in mind that they need to provide ample time and avenue for feedback from concerned members of the public,” concluded Hwong.
