The Spring Shopping Mall has extended the registration period of its popular Live Active Run until May 18.
For the annual event to be held June 15, the mall said the extension was due to continuing strong interest from the public.
“Live Active Run has been Kuching’s biggest community run for several years. As with past successes, the response since the opening of registration has been overwhelming,” it said in a press release yesterday.
There are five categories for the run, namely the 21km half-marathon, 10km, 5km “Fun Run”, the 1km “Kids’ Dash”, and the first-introduced 21km Ekiden Relay.
Prizes this year are worth more than RM30,000, while medals for the coming event will be better than those in previous years.
“To give back to the community, we aim to raise at least RM45,000 for three charity bodies, namely Sarawak Hospice Society, Habitat for Humanity, and Sarawak Breast Cancer Support Group,” it added.
Official sponsors for Live Active Run include Level-Up Fitness, Coneli Sports, Brooks and 100 Plus, among other parties.
Members of Level-Up Fitness are entitled to reduced registration fees.
