Road caves in along Jalan Duta
BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Jan 23: A road along Jalan Duta was partially collapsed as day-long rainfall and flooding continued to overwhelm the Sultanate, rendering the road inaccessible to motorists.
Some sources indicated that excessive water passage seeping into steep terrains around the vicinity might have caused the gradual disintegration as land eroded into a slit.
According to Public Works Department (PWD), water barriers will be installed with road closure taking immediate effect until the situation was fully resolved.
PWD advised motorists to exercise extreme caution during the adverse weather conditions that come together with flash floods, mudslides and other similar phenomena across the globe.
Personnel from RBPF (Royal Brunei Police Force) were patrolling the area along Jalan Duta and Jalan Kebangsaan, as well as entry points from the road surrounding the Royal Excise and Customs Department.
