Assets to boost security in Sabah to be strategically distributed
KOTA KINABALU: New assets to boost security and surveillance in the east coast of Sabah will be distributed strategically to stave off threats from intruders.
Home minister Datuk Seri Zahid Hamidi said the police has been allocated with funds to purchase certain assets that will be delivered to the Eastern Sabah Security Command (Esscom).
“I will monitor the specifications and delivery within the time specified for the purchase of certain assets.
“New equipment have been purchased especially for surveillance and it will be delivered soon as some assets are bought outside the country,” he told reporters after handing out medals to 56 personnel who served during Op Daulat at the Police training centre in Kepayan here.
He also added that a new building would be set up for Esscom in Lahad Datu to replace the temporary cabin that now serves as its administrative centre.
